THE AGUIRRE COLLECTION: 10 Argentinian Classical-Folklore Masterpieces for Pedal Harp

Prof. Do Campo sought to arrange this music because there were no songs or original works for the harp of folkloric rhythm in the Argentine nationalist style and he believed this work allowed him to make a small, but significant contribution to the folk repertoire. It was for this purpose that he developed this transcription in order to expand this particular rapport of the harp.

He hopes you will experience how beautifully natural these arrangements sound on the harp. Although they were all originally composed for piano, these arrangements will sound wonderful on the harp. The Aire N°1 and the Triste N°5 can also be played on the lever harp.

“I hope you like this work and enjoy a refined music folklore like Julián Aguirre’s. May his music awaken your interest in this type of Latin American music, a music which has many and varied forms, and rich and beautiful rhythms.” ~Prof. Oscar Rodriguez Do Campo
