Christmas carols hold a particularly special place in the hearts of so many of us. They are woven into many of our most special Christmas memories, and express the joy, hope and poignancy of the Christmas season in such a singular, pleasurable and effective way.
In the arranger’s own words: “Musically, I must admit that I’ve always been drawn to those Christmas carols that are somewhat more ancient than others. In selecting carols for this small collection, I felt immediately drawn to some of these. Modal harmonies and ancient melodies work so well on the harp, with their blending of sounds so effective and agreeable, at least to my humble ears.”
This delightful new collection of 6 carols, beautifully arranged by Philip Hayden, is at an easy intermediate level and can be played on lever or pedal harp. Although initially arranged using a 26 string harp, the carols can be played on harps of any size, and there are no lever or pedal changes.
