“Dear Friends,

This piece is dedicated to a brilliant writer from the USA, Ray Bradbury, whose books have inspired me since childhood…

The poem by Sara Teasdale, There Will Come Soft Rains is also the name of the short story written by Mr. Bradbury in 1950…

This is not a tone poem, but some parts may parallel or reflect the text.  Most importantly, however, I want to share the emotions and feelings about this short story, which I read many, many years ago.

The middle of the piece reflects the poem of Sara Teasdale.  My intention was to create a stage experience where the musician would read the poem with the accompaniment of the harp…This connection between music and literature could bring a more effectual experience and give rise to new expressions.

Hopefully, you will enjoy playing this piece and spending time with your harp and Ray Bradbury.”

I enjoyed the realism and imaginative creation of the fantasy-worlds, characters, and situations he fashioned.  I have composed this piece In Memoriam…
