Edvard Grieg wrote the Holberg Suite first for piano and later arranged it himself for string
orchestra, exploring how the same music could breathe in different colors. His open attitude
toward re-imagining the work inspired this arrangement for pedal harp.
My goal was to honor Grieg’s clarity, charm, and “old style” character while allowing the harp to
reveal its own natural voice in the music. I hope this version offers harpists another way to enjoy
and share the warmth and elegance of this beloved suite.
