Sarabanda e Toccata. A wonderful solo combo. to learn. The Sarabanda opens with full rolled chords that lead to a melody in the RH thumb. A higher melody enters in that is delicate and has conversational voicing between both hands where the performer can show off their tone and phrasing. The Tocatta is significantly faster in tempo and lively and is played best as the harpist works on relaxing their hand while closing during the oscillating figures in the RH. Nino Rota mastered a wonderful contrast between these two pieces.
