This is a 20th-century jazz ballad arrangement of Engelbert Humperdinck’s beautiful 19th-century hymn, “Evening Prayer” from the opera Hansel and Gretel.
This piece is diverse enough that it can be used for Christmas repertoire, children’s repertoire, wedding and funeral repertoire, and also makes a lovely encore for a concert.
