Classics for the Lever Harp, V.1 (10 pcs)

Bochsa (composer), Tournier (composer), Handel (composer), Carl Swanson (editor)

Classics for the Lever Harp, Volume 1, expertly compiled and edited by Carl Swanson, brings together a beautifully curated selection of 10 intermediate-level works by master composers George Frideric Handel, Nicolas-Charles Bochsa, Marcel Tournier, and Maurice Ravel, all thoughtfully adapted for the lever harp. Designed for a 36-string harp tuned in Eb with full levers, this collection makes historically pedal-harp or keyboard repertoire accessible for lever harpists without sacrificing musical richness. Featuring highlights such as Handel’s Chaconne, Bochsa’s lyrical Nocturne, a suite of expressive miniatures by Tournier, and Ravel’s enchanting Pavane de la Belle au bois dormant, the volume spans Baroque through Impressionist styles while introducing players to a broader harmonic language rarely explored on lever harp. With practical fingerings, detailed lever change notation, and editorial insights, this edition serves as both a rewarding performance collection and a valuable pedagogical resource for advancing harpists seeking to expand technique, musicality, and repertoire.
