Medley:
In the Bleak Midwinter/G. Holst
Still, Still, Still/trad. Austrian
Two gentle carols for the holiday season. “In the Bleak Midwinter” is based on the poem by Christina Rossetti, the musical setting used here is by Gustav Holst, and the second carol and lullaby, “Still, Still, Still” is set to a folk tune from Austria. Gretchen Monson’s ensemble arrangements include a score and separate harp parts and are available in two versions, a version for three lever harps, or a version two pedal harps and one lever harp. Each part is interesting to play and adds a special touch to these arrangements of well-known and well-loved melodies.
